I want...... to MANAGE my website

The content management system offers flexibility and functionality in a robust and relatively non-technical manner. The ability to quickly add and schedule content via the drag-and-drop editor is a boon for the busy marketing department, and your site authors don't need to be web site wizards to produce quality web pages with a lasting impression.

Example 1 - BDL content managed web site

Example 1

The BDL web site uses an inbuilt search function (great for users wanting to track down specific information on a site quickly) and a subscription service for news and job alerts.

The site utilises some of the powerful new features offered by the Ektron CMS – such as the enhanced META data handling and the "Web Alerts" feature, whereby subscribers to the site can automatically receive notifications when new content is published.

Example of Centriquip content managed web site

Example 2

The Centriquip web site also required an inbuilt search function plus, additionally, multi-language support, making a content management system a clear choice.

The site also features a scheduled  "news" section - where press releases are authored and added to the site by an external PR company, but approved and published in-house via the CMS.

How are the files organised?

How are web pages managed?

The Content Management System uses a "folder" structure that will be familiar to most "Windows" users, who will quickly learn their way around the familiar "cascading tree"  hierarchy. Images and files (e.g. PDF documents) for use on the site are organised in the same hierarchy as the web content itself.  Access to content areas can be restricted to particular content authors, with final approvals being assigned to their managers and/or the web site owners.

What does the CMS editor look like?

What does the CMS content editor look like?

The WYSIWYG content editor has a look, feel and functionality similar to Microsoft's "Word" package - meaning that even non-technical staff can quickly master the straightforward drag-and-drop editor with little or no training.

The more technically minded can edit the HTML (the computer code the makes up the web content) directly if required.
